2nd October Celebration at Suraj School Sector 56

As part of an ongoing programme of learning and inculcating Gandhian values in Suraj school sector 56, the students enacted scenes from ‘Gandhiji’s Call For Freedom’ & special assemblies were organised on 1 October 21 for students. The programme started with an old melody dedicated to Gandhiji followed by an enactment of his various phases of work that immortalized him.

The credit for the emotional and patriotic programme goes to the students who managed everything from choreography, music, narration, the voice-over, power-point slides to props, with matchless enthusiasm. At the end of the programme principal of the school addressed the gathering and shared her0 own views on peace and non-violence, which inspired our young minds.

The morning started with the melodious sound of ‘Raghupati Raghav Rajaram’ being played on the flute. At the same time, budding painters of our school painted a picture symbolizing Gandhiji and world peace. This was followed by taking the oath of non-violence where the students solemnly put their hands on their hearts and promised themselves that they would-1. Respect self and others, 2. Communicate better3. To listen,4. To forgive5. To respect nature6. To play creatively
